In a new series on T&W Journal, our stylists break down the secrets and tips behind some of their favourite looks, and how you can recreate them at home. First up, Head of Styling Jessica Bellef explores one of the season’s hot colours, teal, and how to use it to create a luxe bedroom look.
"We’re finally turning to colour after so many years of Scandi minimalism. Teal is coming through in the trend for planetary colours. Dramatic and rich, teal is also lush and calming enough for a bedroom with its echoes of ocean and jungle."
Layer luxe textures
Teal is a rich tone that envelopes you without overwhelming. Echo this effect for a bed you want to sink into, and up the luxe factor with furs, hides, velvet and quilted fabrics.
Be bold with colour
Incorporate other shades of blue and green in cushions and throws. Throw in some indoor greenery to echo the jungle tones.
Accent with brass
Brass is the new copper, and works well as an accent to teal. Bring it in with lighting, a side table or vase.
Keep it fresh
Accent deep paint colour with white trims, or break up a wall with a large-scale artwork in subdued tones.
