Elson - New bedding brand by Broc Munro



Broc Munro (pictured above) is the man behind Elson, a new label aimed at ultra stylish, functional bedding that strives to unite the ideals of men and women alike. If you'd like the stats, Elson products are 300 thread 100% count cotton. But the best thing about Elson, we think, is the tonal, graphic printed designs that create something contemporary yet elegant. We had a talk to Broc about Elson's past and future...    



How and when did Elson come to be?
The journey with ELSON started back in 2012 when I was looking for bed linen for myself and struggled to find anything I liked. I have always been attracted to muted colours and simple, sophisticated patterns and I just couldn't find anything that fitted.

I figured if I was struggling to find bed linen to suit this aesthetic, I'm likely to not be the only one and excitingly, ELSON was born. Having studied surface design, I locked myself away and created hundreds of designs, and what you see now is what made the cut.



What kind of person do you imagine when you're designing the Elson range?
It's never been so much that there is a particular person that I am designing for, it is more taking inspiration from interesting interiors and working designs around that.

ELSON was always designed to be gender neutral – the idea was to create a range of bedding that could sit in the room of both men & women and be enjoyed by both.



Elson has featured in publications like Belle, Real Living, House & Garden and Sunday Style. Do you have a highlight so far? 
It's been really interesting to see how stylists at the magazines have worked ELSON into their shoots. I think one of my favourites so far has been the Real Living spread where they also created an amazing behind the scenes video of the shoot which I think shows the collection really well. 

When you first embark on a journey like this, there is a part of you that is unsure of how the industry will receive your vision so I couldn't be happier with the response so far.



What's your vision for Elson in the future?
The dream for ELSON is to expand it into a lifestyle brand that will offer other home accessories.

The core focus will always remain on bed linen and textiles but there are just so many other surfaces that I would like to stamp the ELSON mark on!
