Our latest colour crush is the perfect antidote to dreary winter days – we're calling it desert blush as it evokes a vibrant sunbaked palette of terracotta, blush and coral tones. Our style team breaks down this bedroom look created by Sarah Cousens.
Cool contrast
A warm colour palette like this makes a bold statement, but you can take a little heat out of the colour scheme by contrasting with artwork featuring neutrals such as sandy beige and stone. The pops of spicy red tie it all together.
Small steps
Not ready to commit to a whole bedroom in this colour? You can still make a statement without going over the top. Pick up on the trend by dressing your bed with cushions and throws in dusty rose, terracotta and sunset pink.
Texture & tone
Instead of going for a block of a colour this strong, add texture to the look with a geometric print – this one has a subtly sandblasted finish which adds to the effect. In the cooler months, you can layer different styles of bedding for extra oomph, too.
Accent ideas
These bold hues go hand in hand with more muted tones that will relax the overall feel. Choose concrete accents over shiny copper for a new-season take on the blush trend. A pendant or bedside lamp, or even a small concrete vase or vessel, will add balance.
