The talented interior decorator and blogger behind Sunday Collector, Briar Stanley, shares her tips for making a house a home, and what she loves most about the newly renovated Sydney home she shares with her husband and two children, Sunday and Rafferty. Need more inspiration, shop our Summer of Love collection for every room.
What do you love most about your current home? I don't know where to start! After living in the same apartment for 10 years, we recently moved to our first house on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It's a late 1960s red brick home with great bones, and the renovation was two years in the planning. The extra space for my little family of four is wonderful, and I love driving up to our charming little house with the coral pink door.

The current trend or look you're loving? I love the fact that terracotta is making a bit of a comeback, as I have lots of succulents and cacti in inexpensive terracotta pots that are looking 'cool' again.
Favourite piece in your home? My new upholstered bedhead that I designed for Bednest (which will be available online really soon), and I love a print I picked up for $10 at an op shop years ago and had re-framed.

Any tips on an easy, creative way to show a room some love? It's an oldie but a goodie – give a room a fresh coat of paint and you'll get immediate results. Window treatments are also a really clever investment. I recently went for a mix of plantation shutters, translucent roller blinds and fabric awnings at our new house and I can honestly say they've had the biggest ‘before and after’ wow factor.
