Design duo Alisa and Lysandra Fraser have moved into the style world full time after their win on The Block Sky High, launching their own interior decoration business. We're the exclusive launch partner for their new art collection with United Artworks. Inspired by nature, it's flexible enough to suit any space, with each piece available as an unframed canvas print or on paper framed in either black or white. We checked in with the twins to find out more about the the collaboration.

What themes did you focus on when thinking about a new art range, and what was the process for your collaboration?
We were inspired by a series of photographs that featured a range of genres, from dramatic skyscapes, to moody seascapes and the very familiar but all too hard to ignore abstract expressions, now a hallmark of United Artworks. We had a vision for our collection and worked with the creative director there to collaborate and share our ideas until we created the right pieces that worked together in harmony.

How do you hope people will use these pieces in their homes?
The feeling of adding the right piece of artwork to your interiors is quite exhilarating. We know that our new collection of artworks will be used to ignite mundane spaces and bring them to life and hope that people will add artwork to rooms they had not considered before, such as their bedroom or kitchen!

What has working in interior design taught you about art?
That art can break all the rules, and it's ok to do so!

Conventionally, art is used in interiors to add to an aesthetic whilst carrying out an existing colour palette. We find that sometimes a disruption of continuity can add wonderful artistic interest and design appeal into a space.

Has your style evolved since The Block, or do you remain true to your 'contemporary, sexy and sophisticated' signature?
This is still our style but it has definitely evolved. In our world nothing is static, and although we don't follow popular trends there are new design aspects and elements, and even favourite finds that continuously shape our style.

Our design philosophy outlasts popular trends and remains constant through evolving times because it's about the love; it's about the feeling of warmth and yearning to be, grow, and do things in the spaces you love, and the spaces that nurture you!

Can you tell us about any of your current interiors projects, and new trends you love?
We have a number of bespoke projects on the go which are very exciting as our clients have given us full creative control; from makeovers and transformations, to new builds. We love sharing our reveals so we have made these available through our website.

Whilst we don't follow trends, we recognise that the use of nature indoors has become quite trendy! Elements of nature including plants and natural textures have had a huge comeback. We love green walls as well as the structural beauty of indoor plants because they can invigorate interior spaces (and your mood) instantly!
