Welcome to the Temple & Webster Emerging Designer Award for 2015.
We’re thrilled to introduce ten up-and-coming designers from around the country, and we invite you to get to know them by learning what makes them tick – from their design philosophies and inspirations to their personal favourites and dreams for the future.
We’re also giving you the exclusive opportunity to explore their work and shop for your own piece of original Australian design in our special sale event. Our expert panel chose the ten shortlisted designers on the basis of their consistent vision and original outlook, and you’ll see the results in a range of clever furniture, unique lighting and beautifully worked accessories and tableware.
We’re big believers in supporting local talent whenever we can, and this is our chance to help the next crop of Australian design stars. We want to know what you think – scroll down to cast your vote in our People’s Choice Award, and you’ll automatically go into the draw to win a $250 store credit at Temple & Webster. Only one vote per person will be accepted - see full terms here.
Be quick to vote and shop - our special sale event runs until 27 July 2015.
Our expert panel - T&W Editorial Director Karen McCartney, former Vogue Living Editor David Clark, Sunday Life Homes editor Andrea Duvall and design commentator and Design Daily founder David Harrison - will choose the winner of this year's Award and $5000 cash prize based on a combination of creativity, commerciality and the public vote. “There is a great deal of talent represented in this year’s awards and we know that choosing one winner will be a real challenge. It is therefore really helpful for the judges to get a sense of the public voting preferences to include as part of the decision making process," says Karen McCartney.
This year's winner and the People's Choice Award winner will be announced on 28 July.
Look out for the designer profiles in this weekend's Sunday Life magazine. We’ll also be sharing all the pics from our launch party as well as info on each designer on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #tweda. Make sure you’re following us there, and share your thoughts. We’d love to know who you voted for, and which are your favourite design picks.
Voting in our Emerging Designer Award 2015 has now closed.
