We're in full Staycation mode here at T&W, channelling those holiday vibes at home – with style postcards inspired by favourite travel destinations and everything you need to recreate resort luxe at your place. Can you believe that our style team whipped up this modern take on a Mediterranean villa right here in our Sydney studio? Explore the look with senior stylist Jonathan Fleming's tips, then shop the Mod Med collection here.
Start with the Med
Start by bringing in a couple of classic pieces that ground your room firmly on the Rivera or Amalfi Coast. The more formal shape of this Camille sofa in neutral linen and rustic Oak and White Chantelle dining table are good choices, and you can branch out from there to avoid the cliches
Add fresh finds
White timber furniture such as the Snow White bed adds a more relaxed coastal feel, while Natural Honey and White Mazza dining chairs in on-trend rattan bring the look up to date. A natural weave Jasmine Natural Jute rug and raw timber Mushroom stool are contemporary but fit the relaxed feel and warm neutral colour palette.
Coastal colour
Brilliant blue and white are the quintessential colours of the French Riviera. Work this in through cushions, bedding and rugs. Terracotta tones do double duty, being a hot colour this season as well as evoking the warmth of a Mediterranean terrace.
Indoor-outdoor living
What the Med and Australia have in common is that balmy summer climate that allows relaxed indoor-outdoor living. Wire furniture such as the Studio Wire Counter bar stool and Studio Wire glass coffee table keep the look light indoors and out. We brought in plenty of green too, and a hit of hot-pink bougainvillea.
