Sisters Hannah Maher and Sarah Serong launched Pooccio last year, and their range of ultra stylish accessories for dogs has been well received. Their eye catching designs – dog beds featuring colourful mixed prints with contrasting piping, luxurious leather leads and suede 'party' collars with removable bows – are a welcome hit of colour for those who follow fashion and expect their dogs to do the same.

What was the impetus for starting Pooccio?
After an exhaustive and unsuccessful research mission to source stylish and unique dog products for the newest member of our family - Fenn, a gorgeous Border Terrier puppy - we identified an obvious gap in the market for well designed dog products which could be a feature in the home.

What have you discovered since starting to design your products?
Dogs - like people - are incredibly unique in taste, personality and needs, and therefore what suits one does not always work for another. We have trialled many of our products on both Fenn and the pooches of many family and friends in order to develop products that are comfortable and durable as well as stylish.

What's important to you about your products?
Over 90% of our products are made by hand, and our cotton canvas fabrics are hand-printed using natural dyes. We use genuine hand-stitched leather and quality hardware on our leads and collars, and non-irritating poly fibre in our dog beds. Everything is designed to be luxurious but also suitable for everyday use. We want our products to reflect the impeccable style of their owners.
