Special Nonexistent Furniture

Our favourite looks of 2016

It's hard to believe 2016 is done and dusted. Our studio team has created hundreds of gorgeous rooms this year to inspire you and help you shop the looks you love. Coastal style (with a hint of boho), classic country, sleek Scandi and the glam Art Deco touches of luxe style have all been among your favourites this year, browse this gallery and our Pinterest page for all the inspo you need. And the good news is that right now you can shop our End of Year Sale to bring each of these looks home for less.

The luxe look was popular this year - with textural velvet, mirrored furniture and metallic accents the heroes.

Glam luxe living doesn't always have to be dark and moody - we love this light, bright, sophisticated take with a pop of colour.

We love the luxe look because it can be cool and masculine or warm and pretty like this room.

This simpler more modern take on luxe living is the perfect way to try the trend in your own home - some deco references here, velvet there and you're on your way!

Another look we've loved in 2016 is Country - muted colours, rural details and plenty of comfy linen and pillows.

This country cabin uses timber and cane as natural foils to the white walls and decor, grounding the space.

Country styling doesn't have to be pastel and full of secondhand finds - this contemporary country dining room blends more modern pieces with comfortable accents to bring the country vibe.

Nothing screams country more than a beautiful wooden barn door.

We love the neutral palette of this rural bedroom retreat.

Scandi style just keeps coming back around and 2016 was no exception! We've loved styling with the clean lines and blonde timbers of scandinavian style furniture.

One thing Nordic styling does well is white on white - we love the textured wall and cute artwork in this scene.

Form and function are key in scandinavian homes - having somewhere to put your book and phone before you go to bed that also displays plants and trinkets at the same time is a must.

Despite its love for neutrals, Nordic styling doesn't always shy away from colour! This room seamlessly blends moody grey with pops of pastel colour and on-trend copper accents.

We loved creating this Scandi living room scene - complete with comfy sheepskins and a beautiful timber tabletop.

The other direction interiors went in 2016? To the seaside. This classic coastal living room mixes cool blues with lots of texture to give the illusion of being right on the sand.

A totally different take on coastal was the Bahamas look - take blue decor and add rattan furniture and plenty of greenery.

Coastal doesn't always mean light and bright. This moody coastal living room was an ode to living beachside in winter - the coastal references like oars and natural furniture remains, but darker colours and more soft furnishings add cosiness.

That holiday-at-home feeling doesn't just have to exist in your living spaces. A home office is the ideal spot to display your favourite beachy decor.
