The ethereal Cumulus pendant by Enoki is a light, an airy sculpture, and a contradiction all at once. Find out more...
The first impression of the Cumulus light is of simplicity, with light glowing from a sheer shade whose visible exterior seams speak to a relaxed approach. But under the light muslin or linen veil is a more complex plywood frame that is both beautiful in its skeletal lines, and cleverly designed to be flat packed, and assembled with only elastic ties.
“The Cumulus lights capture the essence of a daydream; a time to reflect and imagine forms in the clouds above,” says Enoki designer Vi Nguyen, whose design was inspired after a day spent walking through the streets of Melbourne on a sunny winter afternoon.
Enoki is a multi-disciplinary design firm with output across interiors, graphics and products. Founders interior designer Susanna Bilardo and graphic designer/illustrator, Judd Crush are interested in exploring new directions in design, while maintaining a focus on environmental issues. The Cumulus pendant has become a designer's favourite since its launch, finding its place in homes and restaurants around the country.

Hand crafted in Adelaide, the Cumulus is beautiful as a single pendant and especially impactful in a cluster of different sizes. And the design is somehow equally at home in both modern or more traditional settings. "The modern and minimal crowd love them for their clean lines and pure form, and with their traditional lantern shape and earthy fabric, they appeal to those with more traditional or eclectic tastes," says Enoki.
Watch Enoki's video to see how to create the light from a flat packed kit and be inspired to find a place for the Cumulus in your home.
