Christmas… 'Tis the time to lie back, devour mangoes and Lindt chocolate balls, and watch a stream of classic Christmas films. Think
It's a Wonderful Life and
Meet Me in St Louis, or
Elf and
Die Hard, depending on your taste in movies. For a bit of festive fun, we've decided to re-create the looks of some of the memorable (and questionable) interiors of a few cult Christmas films, starting with this 2008 comedy drama
Four Holidays, also known as
Four Christmases, or
Anywhere But Home in some parts of the world.
Four Christmases, New Line Cinema & Spyglass Entertainment/ Warner Bros. Pictures (2008)While this slapstick comedy generated mixed reviews, it's safe to say that it's still an irresistibly trashy Christmas favourite in many households. If you haven't already indulged in this film, here's a brief rundown:
Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn play couple Kate and Brad, who, each year, escape visiting their divorced parents for Christmas by taking off on a tropical holiday of their own. Due to a fog, the airport shuts down and they're forced to celebrate four Christmases in one eventful day.
Four Christmases, New Line Cinema & Spyglass Entertainment/ Warner Bros. Pictures (2008)We've taken the contrasting looks of the slightly eccentric, stained-glass house of New Age mum Paula (played by Sissy Spacek), and the formal and overly 'matchy-matchy' home of mum Marilyn (played by Mary Steenburgen), and created a couple of mood boards to show how you could actually (and quite tastefully) re-create the looks!
