Karen McCartney's Ottoman Love

Karen writes about her instant attraction to the Riverstones Ottoman, and making it work in her home (pictured above).

Introducing a new item of furniture into a completely decorated space can be a challenge. Will it fit in, will it make friends with the other pieces in the room and look like it is meant to be? Or will it look like the odd man out, never quite accepted and always alone (visually anyway).

When I saw this ottoman in the Temple & Webster studio I was really drawn to it (as were many others) and I did a mental check list to test for compatibility. Textured and natural – tick – low and sturdy – tick - interesting with designer overtones – tick.

But then it had to make it past my husband - the Style Tsar. After eyeing it suspiciously, he placed it carefully next to the sofa and admitted, grudgingly, it did work with the rest of the room.

Phew.
