Follow along as our talented stylists Allira and Jess walk you through their top tips for beautiful rooms that anyone can achieve at home. In this video, Allira shares how to style the perfect festive dining table.  


Step 1 - Lay the base  
Choose a tablecloth or runner, and placemats to suit your Christmas style and lay the base for your table. We've gone for a grey linen table runner to complement the beautiful texture of our timber table, with darker rattan placemats for contrast.

Step 2 - Choose the perfect crockery
The sky's the limit when it comes to crockery for Christmas. You can go simple and streamlined for a formal look, or mix and match as we've done, with organic, speckled crockery with a more modern white set to create interest (which also helps if you don't have enough of one type of plate for the number of guests - call it a styling choice!)

Step 3 - Add cutlery and glassware
Adding beautiful cutlery and glassware are a great way to create a layered look on a dining table, we've chosen detailed French-style cutlery and simple glassware.

Step 4 - Personalise your place settings
Add a thoughtful touch by styling each place setting with classic napery, a name card and a festive accent like these baubles.

Step 5 - Go green with a garland and vase of flowers
Complete your table with a beautiful green garland and a vase of flowers for a pop of colour. We've used this faux sage garland - a great option as you can use it throughout the house during Christmas on your mantlepiece, console and at any festive gatherings (and keep it for next year!). This way you only need to update any fresh flowers when you're expecting guests.
