Rich, mysterious and elegant, indigo has a history that's as vivid as the colour itself. Named after and produced by a dye extracted from a tropical plant, this dark purplish blue pigment dates back to Maya civilisation. Today, it's commonly used to dye Shibori fabrics and your denim jeans.

Indigo calm
To soften the 'masculine' side of indigo, pair it with light apricot orange. This desaturates the indigo, resulting in a soothing harmonious feel that's conducive to rest and relaxation. 



Indigo rich
Enhance the warmth and opulence of indigo with caramel browns - think ochre, russet and burnt orange. This is a great pairing to create cosiness to spaces.
