From time to time we're lucky enough to visit one of our lovely members at home, and we always love seeing the way T&W purchases have been styled. Our photographer Maya Vidulich and stylist Jessica Bellef recently visited T&W member Jacoline (pictured above) at the family home in Sydney she shares with her husband, children Verona (7) and Alec (4) and their very cute schnoodle puppy, Grover. You might have seen Jacoline in this month's Inside Out magazine talking about why she loves shopping with us.
Jacoline's large furniture pieces are neutral, and she added a natural-toned tripod lamp from T&W and then built layers of colour with cushions, indigenous art from The Gallery Shop and a green chair at the kitchen table.
How long have you lived here?
Almost a year although we had to wait two long years before we could move in. This gave me plenty of time to start looking at furniture and homewares - our previous (smaller) home's dining room was filled with boxes from Temple & Webster in great anticipation of moving to the new house!
A beautifully light bathroom with freestanding tub and classic black & white chequerboard tiles is softened by towels in soft lilacs & grey and an elegant faux orchid, all from T&W along with the Murchison-Hume products, a favourite for their eco credentials.
What do you love about your house?
I love the house's character – it is a mix of Cape Cod and Hamptons style. It was originally built around 1930 and then extensively renovated approximately 12 years ago. The end result offers lovely natural light streaming through the windows, especially in the conservatory where we love to entertain (when we get the time!).
How would you describe your decorating style?
I am attracted to predominantly French Provincial and Hamptons / beach styles and prefer casual rather than formal. However I am opportunistic and will buy items outside these styles. My favourite colours are white, beige and hues of green and blue. I am quite open to different textures – comfort is a key factor.

Which is your favourite room, and why?
My favourite room is the conservatory. I love the natural light and the architecture reminds me of the Hamptons style. With all the windows, it often feels like you are sitting in the garden (a great feature in unpleasant weather). It is also a great room to host the kids' birthday parties as the mess is kept out of the main house and the floor tiles make cleaning up easy!

What was the hardest thing about decorating your home?
As we hope this to be our family home for many years to come, I felt the pressure of buying the "right" items as we'll have to live with my choices for a long time! I also felt the competing pressures of buying beautiful items but not too expensive as I didn't want to be precious about daily wear and tear and accidents – a serious consideration with two young kids and a puppy dog. I loved the convenience of researching on the Internet as and when I had time, ordering and (most of all) receiving items at my doorstep.

Which are your favourite T&W purchases?
My favourite items have to be the two mirrors hanging in the conservatory. I was looking for mirrors to quintessentially "bring the garden into the house". These high quality, wrought-iron mirrors adorned with vines fitted the desire perfectly (without breaking the bank!). I have been searching for mirrors for quite a while and didn't have much success. My young active son makes it near impossible to visit different shops in various locations and to lug the purchases home so a big bonus was to have these heavy items delivered home!
I also love my two imitation orchids. I am lacking a green thumb so I have been looking for high quality imitation plants/flowers to make our house more "homey". One lives in the family bathroom and the second in the slightly dimmed entrance hall. The orchids look amazingly real and I have been asked why I hide one in the bathroom! If I manage to keep quiet, no-one knows they're not real - they provide me great joy.

Finally, the range of beige and blue cushions in our TV room. I bought blinds for the TV room not realising it would be so hard finding matching cushions. I looked around in quite a number of retail stores and kept an eye on Temple & Webster's website. When I bought these cushions, T&W had quite a large selection to choose from. As the cushions' colours and patterns complement each, I bought all the cushions at once (couldn't believe my luck). As the prices are so reasonable, it was an option. I bought other cushions as well (plain white/beige with more texture) but they didn't work so I sent them back. I quite like the saying "it's a sin to under-cushion".
