The chic acrylic tableware in our Outdoor Entertaining feature today got us all excited about colourful summer table settings. If you have a party planned this weekend, think about mixing colours and patterns for a riotous, festive look. It can't fail to lift the mood at lunch!

The lush green meadow in the top image is an amazing backdrop for splashes of red and orange, although you may need sunglasses to cope with this much colour. The lower image is a little more country-style pretty.  Lovely for a ladies' catch up lunch, or a little girl's birthday party. Pick flowers or foliage from your garden for a few small jars or vases on the table - low enough to talk over and not too formal.

Now let's hope the weather co-operates...
