Pure, beautiful iced blues and cool greys form the basis of the Tundra colour palette (above), identified as a key trend for 2013 by Colourways, a member-based trend forecast group established by the Design Institute of Australia 20 years ago. Colourways members including architects, interior designers & stylists meet each year to exchange ideas and talk about emerging themes in the industry. and Colourways distils all this into forecasts which incorporate colour and texture.

Simplicity, leached colours and natural textures are some of the key themes for the Tundra palette. Above are several colours and finishes embodying the trend: Sparkk Dakar wallpaper in Actic (top left), Del Conca porcelain tile by Tile Boutique (top right), Fibonacci Stone floor tile in Earth (bottom left) and Resene paint in Escape (bottom right).

Another of the colour directions is Sweet Chalk (above), featuring sugared pinks, purples and corals. We love this Sparkk Flamingo fabric in Pop (below).
Which colour palette speaks to you - are you all for cool neutrals, or do you need bright, happy colours in your space?
