Beautiful bedrooms for kids

We've rounded up a collection of beautiful bedrooms for kids, ranging from the perfectly neutral to the dramatically colourful. Which is your favourite?

A duvet cover from Gather Kids keeps things neutral while adding texture through the gathered detail. It looks beautiful in a tonally neutral room, as here, but could equally act as a backdrop for bright accents.

We love this little girl's bedroom in the home of Alice Flynn of Penny Farthing Design House, which we spotted on Design Sponge. Alice created the wool-wrapped branch hanging herself and the delicately coloured flamingo print adds just enough colour for prettiness.

Moving one step further up the colour ladder, the timeless block-printed pattern of this Haveli baby bedlinen adds a fresh feel to an otherwise neutral room. Blue and white is always a hard combination to beat.

Along the same lines, these Klippan blankets in sweet dots and checks are lovely on a painted white daybed.

Interior designers Arent & Pyke took a playful approach with this bedroom for a 6 year old, using a Christopher Farr fabric for the chair and incorporating a bright red Jielde lamp and Rachel Castle artwork. See the rest of the room on their In / Out Design Blog.

Remember our peek into the home of Bruce Slorach & Sophie Tatlow of Utopia Goods? They described their son Henri's room as a kaleidoscope of colour, with bright textiles, furniture and artwork mixed together on a neatral backdrop. See the rest of their home here.

Finally, interior designer Chelsea Hing went all out for her baby Louis, abandoning conventional ideas about neutral walls and using a deep grey, then adding colour, shape and texture in a gallery wall, printed curtains and a knitted blanket. See the rest of her home on The Design Files.
