Not all of us have the space (or funds) for infinity pools and landscaping, but that doesn't mean we can't channel resort vibes. Here's how to live it up outdoors with simple updates. 

1. Resort living is all about whiling away the afternoon in a plush lounge with a book and bevvie. For effortless tropical style, opt for generous outdoor lounges in warm rattan or timber.  



2. Bring the inside outside with layers of fabric and texture. Don't limit yourself to just outdoor rugs and cushions; try ottomans, pouffes and large floor cushions for sprawling.  



3. Create cosy reading nooks with hammocks, swing chairs and hanging chairs. Nothing beckons more than cocoon-like egg chairs, but for something sturdier, consider Hamptons-style Adirondack chairs.



4. Most of us have established outdoor dining and BBQ areas, but what about a casual bar set-up? Add a ceiling fan with palm-inspired blades, and you're nailed your very own tropical paradise.
