Miranda Kerr's Malibu home has been doing the rounds of social media this week, after it was featured in Vogue Living (take the tour here). Inspired by her restful blue & white retreat, we went looking for more living rooms featuring this classic combo.
A striking painting by George Raftopoulos was the element that really tied this room together, according to Heidi Carter of Paddo to Palmy blog. In her Palm Beach abode, floors and walls are painted white, blue used in accents including cushions and picked out on painted window frames.
You could say the view is the hero at this coastal home designed by Sydney's Justine Hugh-Jones. She has kept the floor, walls and board ceiling white and used indigo-hued cushions to contrast with light coloured upholstery. The Enoki cumulus pendant swinging in the breeze is a light, ethereal touch.
The cover home for this month's Inside Out magazine has views of sand and sea, and its interiors reflect that palette, with neutral walls, carpet and curtains. The curved sofa in mid blue (it's the Nook by Jardan) acts as a focal point for the room, and host to a collection of oversized cushions and throws.
Last but not least, the stunning Halcyon House boutique hotel in Cabarita Beach designed by Anna Spiro. "People who know me know that I have a very big soft spot for blue and white," she says. "I grew up in a home that was always decorated in a blue and white colour palette. I also felt that this was the perfect location to be able to use blue, being beside the ocean." See more of Halcyon House in our longer post here.
