Today we're lucky enough to share a peek inside the home of Belinda Everingham, the creator of Bondi Wash. Shot by Lauren Bamford and styled by Mr Jason Grant, it's an ode to its beachside location and a lesson in decorating with a neutral base and adding small doses of colour - in this case sunny yellow, aqua blue and leafy green. Belinda Everingham describes the philosophy of her business Bondi Wash  as being 'to create beautiful, natural, fragrant products featuring Australian botanicals - and do it with integrity.' Her focus on natural colours and textures including greenery and her garden flows through to the Bondi home her family has created with help from architect Nadine Alwill and landscape designer Will Dangar.



The brief was for something 'relaxed, inviting and calming,' Belinda says, 'with the garden being just as important as the interiors.' Having moved from a darker Victorian semi, Belinda decided it was time to lighten up. 'It was time for something lighter, fresher and more uplifting - more suited to the Australian light and outdoor living,' she says. 'We have drawn on elements of Japanese and Scandinavian design for a clean, light and open feel.'



The colour palette was influenced by its beachside location - Belinda says the 'vibrant aqua blue of the Bondi surf features in various places around the home - the front door, the pool tiles, the Dinosaur Designs rug in the living space and the Koskela 'Licht' pendant in the main bathroom.'



Belinda lives in the home with her husband and three children. After seeing these pictures, we asked Belinda whether she has the world's tidiest children - she says they are in fact pretty tidy in the living areas but 'their bedrooms are a different story!' We mustn't forget Roger the spoodle, pictured above, who often features in the @bondiwashdogs Instagram account which is dedicated to their furry customers (their main instagram is @bondiwash.)



The lush carpet, high ceilings and light oak timber furniture was inspired by a former home in Melbourne, although the 1970s features of spa, sauna and bar off the living room didn't make the cut!



Having discovered the properties of Australian bush oils after visiting a friend who was using diluted eucalyptus oil to clean with, Belinda has been working ever since on products which take advantage of the natural power and fragrance of these oils. She is continuing to expand the range, with anti-bacterial Hand Spray and Yoga Mat Spray coming up soon.



When asked about her favourite space, Belinda cites the kitchen. 'Believe it or not, my favourite space is the kitchen. The view to the garden is so uplifting - it is a joy just to be sitting there (preferably not cooking.)'

Whether influence flows from her home environment to her business or vice versa, the results in both cases are beautiful, well-considered and uniquely Australian.
