The best of Perth with stylist Meghan Plowman

Meghan Plowman is a triple-threat -  an interior stylist, designer and photographer. Based in Perth, her style is textural and rich, conveying a sense of home that's relatable as well as aspirational and her website, The Orchard, is an inspiring collection of her work across all three fields. We love her perfectly tonal Instagram feed, as well as the fact that she shares her editing and promotional know-how in local workshops. Get ready to be inspired...

Workshops
Bringing people together for a morning of community and learning through my workshops continues to be a treat for me. An element of the preparation I have fun with is creating these goodie bags for my participants to 'ooh' and 'aah' over!

Design Circus at Venn Gallery
Design Circus has been a favourite project of mine so far and a real privilege to be a part of. It is an original and imaginative week long circus experience that challenges the way we see design. I have been so fortunate to work alongside and learn from master product designer Pepe Garcia from Spanish design studio CuldeSac.

Curio Warehouse
A collector at heart, most weekends you will find me rummaging around markets or thrift stores for that perfect find. During my week I aim to get to a few showrooms to see what's going on - the stories of designers and retailers that drives them to promote and create design leaves me incredibly inspired.

Home Base
A mood board for a current visual merchandising project with Home Base Expo. Nautical, earthy, a little Americana and all things weekend - think lazy cabin days spent by a lake! I love the challenge of sourcing pieces for the concepts I envisage and how they come together.

Zinnia Florals
When I am offered the opportunity to collaborate with other passionate creatives on a job, my creativity gets kicked into overdrive. The dynamic is electric and inspiring. Having received this exquisite bouquet of loose blooms from Natalie Woods of Zinnia Floral Designs, I know first hand the beauty she can create. I can't wait to spend a day with Natalie in her workshop of botanical heaven styling and shooting an upcoming look book.

Friends
What has become an essential part of my working week is making time to meet with fellow freelancers and creatives. A lot of them now friends, they have become my co-workers, my bouncing boards, stress relievers and confidants. I'm incredibly grateful for this network - my perfect grounding during often hectic weeks of managing schedules and jobs.

Mornings Like These
Coming from a graphic design background and as a self-confessed type geek, I still very much enjoy getting stuck into a good branding assignment, especially when it's for an absolute favourite movement such as Mornings Like These. All about promoting mindful day beginnings and celebrating rituals, this brand is gaining an incredible following from fellow morning lovers. I am so grateful for the opportunities to work with international businesses and to promote them locally.

It may still be Summer but I am already in planning mode for a program for the Cranmore Home Winter Workshops. Owner and curator, Tracy Lefroy, has a unique vision of bringing style to country Western Australia, and it's been a highlight to collaborate with her in styling pop-up shopping experiences in some stunning locations in our beautiful WA wheatbelt. There will be plenty of styling, foraging and exploring to be done this Winter!
