Looking to lift the glam factor in your home? Your coffee table is a great place to tell a story about your style - here's how to create this pretty, feminine look.

 1. Table talk

Choose a coffee table with glass, mirrored or metallic elements. If it gleams, it's good.

 

2. Flower power

Choose unstructured blooms, loosely arranged for a romantic feel. "Peonies are so darn gorgeous and perfect for a romantic luxe look,' says our Head of Styling Jessica Bellef. "Give the blooms a spunky edge by arranging them asymmetrically in a vase with a wide opening."

3.  Colour crush

A book stack is useful on a coffee table - it provides a platform for display and offers guests a taste of your interests (and something to read if conversation flags). Make sure your book spines fit with the colour palette of the rest of the décor for a cohesive look. Here stylist Adam Powell chose pale pinks and blues to continue the soft look, and match the tones of the rug and sofa.

 

4. Tray chic

"A delicate tray will keep your coffee table accoutrements tidy. Choose a mirrored style and gold accents to double the glam-factor," says Jessica Bellef. If you think this look won't last five minutes at your place, take heart. "We know life isn't a rose-hued slice of well-styled perfection," she says. "Busy little hands and wagging tails can turn a coffee table masterpiece into a hot mess in the blink of an eye. It doesn't mean you have to have to live a spartan life. A stack of colour coordinated books with a small low bowl placed on top might be all you need to add some colour to the space. Push the stack to the centre of the table and give yourself some surface area to put up your feet. When you get a chance."

 5. Scent style

A candle in your favourite scent is a go-to for the glam look. When lit, the warm glow will be amplified by the mirrored and glass accents, and a pretty glass vessel fits in perfectly with the delicate details.
