Peter Fudge's one thing for Spring

Peter Fudge - One thing for Spring - Temple & Webster Journal

Spring is your chance to refresh, renew and re-style. We came up with 5 ideas to get you started, and now we’re bringing you more ideas from our friends in the world of style. Peter Fudge has been designing beautiful gardens for over 20 years, and has written two books on the subject. His blog is a rich trove of information for the keen gardener in all seasons - but we asked him for one thing he thinks about in Spring...

As a gardener I love this time of year. It reminds me of all the plants that I need to incorporate into my designs to trigger the sense of smell. Fragrance is so important in a garden. It evokes timeless memories, and it  reminds us with anticipation of bountiful things to come.

I'll be working into my designs the likes of Magnolias, Jasmine and Daphne (though there are many others) so that the underestimated sense of smell lives on.
