Carrie Kwan is the super glamorous founder of Daily Addict, and lives a fabulous life seeking out new and notable happenings in Sydney and Melbourne to share with her readers. This week she shares some recent Sydney experiences - incentive, if you need any, to try something new in your own city. We've linked through to some of Carrie's reviews of the places she mentions - or visit Daily Addict and sign up for their daily email. You can also visit Daily Addict on Facebook or follow on twitter or Instagram @dailyaddict. Her Youtube videos are also worth a view, including her visit to T&W HQ.

This is what an edible candle with flavours of hibiscus, bolero tea and plum looks like. You can only find it at Gastro Park restaurant in Potts Point for the next few weeks as part of Chef Grant King's Game of Thrones inspired menu. Tap into your inner geek and savour 'Mulled Figs by Candlelight'.

I especially like the idea of a pop-up concept because by nature they exist for a limited time - you can't as easily take it for granted. Tonight's Cartier Naturellement exhibition launch is the prettiest event of the year so far – lots of ephemeral jewels surrounded by vast blooms of baby's breath and orchids - and it will all disappear in 24hrs. Maybe that big white panther needs a new home?

Evenings like these remind me how lucky I am to live in Sydney, where we have amazing artistic talent like Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela and the Sydney Dance Company troupe in our own backyard. De Novo's Emergence global premiere was a hit. I loved the raw physical energy, the striking costumes by fashion designer Dion Lee and music collaboration by singer Sarah Blasko and composer Nick Wales.

Eat & drink good coffee. Converse. Shop. In no particular order but all in the same place. I love a good trifecta experience and find it possible at Sous Le Soleil, Kitchen by Mike/Koskela, and most recently The Grounds at Alexandria. They already have a cafe, coffee roasting facility, garden and mini-farm on premise. This month they've added coffee masterclasses to their expanding list.

My team and I are on an all-day photo/video shoot with Shoes of Prey – this stop is at QT Sydney's Gowings Bar & Grill. They do very good things in this European style brasserie serving up seafood dishes and wood fired oven favourites. I like the New York cool feel and touches of quirky art everywhere. Today I'm wearing a vivid red suit by Australian Fashion doyenne Carla Zampatti with DvF accessories. It's all about colour blocking, and makes me feel like I can take on more than I can chew.

If you want to get pineappled (in a good way), Ananas Bar & Brasserie is where you can do it, with a touch of Parisian flair. The cocktails are divine, the décor, kitsch meets glam. A fun place to catch up with old friends and new.

We just bought a new place and weekends are spent trawling antique and furniture places in person and online for decorating ideas and inspiration. Here are our latest purchases for the home office - a vintage Remington typewriter and Geneva Sound System Model XS which I can also use when traveling. Old meets new.
