Karen McCartney introduces her newest find: luxurious artisan-made towels by bedouin SOCIETE.
Virginia Feldtman is not only the brains behind the seductive brand bedouin SOCIETE but the person who supplies the aesthetic judgement, the marketing and more. "The decision to start bedouin SOCIETE was a natural one. It stemmed from a long-standing passion for textiles and design for the home from a young age. I always knew that this would be something I would do, " says Virginia.
Launching in 2011 with a range of beautiful colors in linen bedding , bedouin SOCIETE quickly became a byword for quality, with the luxurious products in soft natural and earthy hues gracing the very best Australian beds.
Virginia then turned from the bedroom to the bathroom. "The two spaces have played big roles in my life - the bedroom and bathroom represent sanctuaries and luxury for me, they are where you unwind and relax and lock out the world."

Global travels involved researching and working with the best artisans to produce simple, raw yet luxe designs which is the essence of Bedouin SOCIETE. Virginia acknowledges that "It takes patience to achieve great things. Sometimes that's hard in the fast moving market we have today."
Temple & Webster is delighted to have these hand-loomed cotton towels as part of the 'Object of Desire' series. Why? Because they combine traditional techniques and modernist design elements, because they mix looped and flat weave to creative effect and because they have those wonderful old-style European tassels. They are, in essence, a towel hybrid of all the best bits drawn into one timeless design classic.
