How to make mornings less manic
Find yourself running around like a mad person scrambling to get out of the house every morning? Perhaps it's time to instil new habits. Here's how to make mornings more manageable... or at least more bearable.
1. Hate to say it, but nothing beats the mayhem like having an extra hour on your sleeve. Set your alarm clock (one that's not your phone to avoid the temptation of checking socials) and avoid the snooze button at all costs. Just picture the chaos that awaits you if you cave in, and use that to motivate you out of bed.

2. Lay out your entire outfit including shoes and accessories the night before (yes, it's possible with handy furniture like coat racks, valet stands and storage organisers like jewellery boxes). Make this part of your nightly routine and you'll stop thinking twice about it.

3. Do a quick stretch on your yoga mat or if you exercise in the mornings, sleep in your work-out gear so all you have to do is bounce out of bed and slip into your runners.

4. Fill your bedroom with scents that make you feel good. Smell has the amazing ability to influence brain activity and invigorate the mind. Add peppermint, rosemary or eucalyptus oil to an aroma diffuser to make you feel more alert and focused.

5. Prepare breakfast the night before. Boiled eggs, bircher muesli, frittata and muffins all make great make-ahead options. Check out these healthy make-ahead breakfasts for inspiration and stock up on food containers.

6. Get some music (not the news) pumping on your speakers while you're getting dressed. Good Morning Feel Good Songs on Spotify featuring a range of upbeat tracks from across the decades is sure to get you rising and shining.
