Helen and David Lennie are the owners of Signature Prints studio in Sydney, from where they identified, restored and nurtured the iconic Florence Broadhurst design archive, slowly bringing it back to life over 2 decades. Both highly creative and passionate about design, they still spend an enormous amount of time and energy in the print studio and have built Florence Broadhurst into a global brand.

Straight into the print studio for a 7.30 am start to work with the team at Circa Home today. Here Rachel is washing a screen after printing this hot new colourway of Turnabouts by Florence Broadhurst in fluoro orange on matt brushed silver wallpaper. It matches the new 'Velvet Petals' candles by Circa Home perfectly and puts an instant smile on everyone's face.

First pit stop today is Grandiflora in Potts Point to see Saskia for inspiration. I always leave weighted down with flowers and head straight to work to fill my office with them. It is the perfect inspiration I need to create new and inspiring colours. Nature is always my first reference – much like Florence Broadhurst. Our ink specialist then makes the inks quickly to keep up with demand in production for his busy day ahead. We usually match our inks to Pantone colours but I prefer to be inspired by natural beauty which you know already works.

A few weeks ago we had a brilliant work shop with Jamie Durie and his team which was an opportunity for us to showcase what we love doing – sharing a behind the scenes experience of Signature Prints and our story. It is also the chance to print your own Florence Broadhurst design. I loved getting Jamie behind the screen and discovering what his favourite designs in the archive were. I have to say Jamie is a great wallpaper printer – a real natural. Jamie had the exciting launch of his new furniture range for 'Riva 1920' at the Fanuli showroom this week. After seeing his striking designs, I had the opportunity to make pasta with him in the traditional Italian way with Sarah Boreham from Signature Prints. Jamie's facial expression says it all – 'stick to printing girls!!'. We seem to always be laughing when working with Jamie.

Quite often evenings are a bit more work in my office at home as we are connecting with our export clients. I have a different journal for each part of the world. I prefer to take hand written notes of conversations in a journal as I often scribble and draw while chatting. Most of our overseas clients we have known for a long time so it's often like talking to a friend overseas rather than a business call. Journals are my one weakness and I seem to be addicted to ones from Wild Colonial.

An early morning meeting with Warwick from Woolerina who has just arrived from his farm in country NSW (Forbes). Here you can see Tori and I working on colour ways for Woolerina's new range of baby products. We love natural substrates at Signature Prints and appreciate the workmanship involved to create them. This meeting is closely followed by lunch with the team in our studio. Everyone works really hard at Signature Prints so our breaks are a great time to relax and enjoy some good food and drink tea (which we love) before heading back to work.

Here you can see Solar that has just been custom printed in hot summer colours which was a colourway created in conjunction with David Jones for their annual flower show. Birds of Paradise can also be seen displaying the different colour combinations we chose for the recent development of our Limited Edition Art.

We live close to Centennial Park but very rarely used it until Mr. Patrick Mustard came into our lives. Thanks to a dog rescue site, our lives have been completely transformed with a healthy balance of work and play. We use the park twice a day, every day without fail. The parklands are absolutely incredible and Paddy's face lights up as soon as I say the word 'Park'.
