Jennifer Jones left her role as managing director for Diesel Australia to start Have You Met Miss Jones, drawing on her family's experience in the industry. Her range of white bone china was an instant hit with stylists and consumers, and has since featured in all the leading interiors magazines. We know it's only August, but we had to ask about the always-fabulous HYMMJ Christmas decorations for this year.
What made you switch from fashion to homewares?
Having grown up surrounded by samples from my parents' homeware business I felt a more natural affiliation with these products. As I ventured into it I realised that I love the people in the home-wares industry. Equally passionate, incredibly genuine, and just a touch mad!
What is it about white bone china that's really struck a chord?
Our bone china has an amazing tactile quality. We can capture tiny details yet the pure white form makes the product appear simple and classic.
What else is in the pipeline?
We're known for our bone china but are expanding into different materials, which is exciting for us. We launched our resin jewellery recently and had a great response. It's inspired by our clay pottery range and features bangles and rings. We also have a new wood collection which features apple and pear pinch bowls and wooden frames with test tubes.

What will the HYMMJ Christmas look like in 2012?
Christmas this year is about traditional icons served with a playful touch. Our range includes beautiful bone china circus animals, quirky Victorian style ornaments and of course, a few owls! We displayed them in frames at a recent trade fair (see image above) and they looked amazing.
How will you be spending your Christmas?
Planning my wedding! I'm getting married in March and coincidentally also launching my new wedding business 'Miss Jones in Love' which offers our brides the chance to customise our products for their big day.
