Giving thanks for US design
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, it’s prompted a renewed love for all things American here at the T&W office. Some of our all-time favourite designers hail from the USA so we thought there would be no better time to celebrate (and steal!) their style.
Kelly Wearstler
Kelly Wearstler’s unmistakeable signature style is big on luxe textures and creating impact with colour. We love that her sophisticated style also has a fun edge. Insta-stalk her @kellywearstler.
Martha Stewart
When talking about US designers and Thanksgiving, it would be remiss of us not to mention the queen of all of the above, Martha Stewart. Martha's Instagram @marthastewart is a feast for the eyes (literally – all that food!) with plenty of classic interiors inspo and beautifully styled food shots to keep you scrolling for hours.
Nate Berkus
The sophisticated but homely design style of Nate Berkus can be seen in homes from Manhattan to Milan, all showcasing his love for mixing old with new and incorporating people’s favourite pieces and personal items. We currently love spaces which incorporate travel mementos and pieces with an interesting story, all of which Nate's design embodies – soak up his cool style here.
Emily Henderson
New York Times bestselling author and designer Emily Henderson is known for creating eclectic spaces that are full of personality, and for her passion of making great design more accessible for all. Pairing classic furniture pieces and room layouts with vibrant accessories and quirky décor pieces makes her one of our favourite style-crushes – double tap your little heart out @emilyhenderson.
Justina Blakeney
Justina Blakeney of ‘The Jungalow’ fame has a colourful, layered style that emphasises comfort and individuality. Her spaces are typically filled with pattern and plenty of greenery, along with pieces collected in her travels or from local op shops. Feast your eyes on Justina’s quirky style on her Instagram accounts @justinablakeney and @thejungalow.
