Blogs we love: Absolutely Beautiful Things
It's been wonderful spending time over the Christmas break doing some reading, including catching up with all our favourite blogs. If you haven't already discovered Anna Spiro's Absolutely Beautiful Things, it's time we introduced you.
Anna is a Brisbane-based interior decorator who also sells furniture (including pieces from the Stuart Membery Home range) and homewares from her New Farm store, Black & Spiro. She has also recently embarked on an online adventure, selling via seasonal room vignettes – an idea we love.
Anna's blog is wonderful because it's warm and it's real. It offers a glimpse into her family life as well as her decorating work. We are continually inspired by her use of colour and pattern. Perhaps her love of gardening and fresh flowers allows her to mix colours and patterns so well.
Themes we've spotted in her interiors: beautiful fabrics, often used to update traditional furniture, blue and white china, splashes of bright pink, antiques, natural materials such as wicker, fresh flowers, great art and lots of white. You can see most of those elements in the image below, which featured in Vogue Living. To see more of Anna's style, visit her blog or see a slideshow of her former home features on Apartment Therapy.
