When our Instagram followers made it clear they loved stylist Jono Fleming's take on a stylish entrance, we decided to explore the look a bit further.
Welcome home: Jono's entrance, created in the T&W studio with the help of T&W model Eleanor Grattan, is an eclectic mix of country and coastal style. A variety of timber and glass objects, including an old bird cage he found in an op shop provide visual interest, while a striking horse print is casually propped on the reclaimed timber console.
In character: The key furniture piece is the console table. Whether new or old, it features solid timber with a weathered or slightly rustic finish and signals a relaxed approach and an interior with personality. In this Scandinavian home, a group of small graphic prints in black and white provide a counterpoint to the large pottery pieces and and foraged finds.
Unsung hero: We've been obsessing over this image for a while (it's on our Pinterest board) but we only just noticed that the wooden table is actually an old door on trestles that look a lot like these $15 ones. Weekend project, anyone? It's the artwork that really makes this picture sing - its rich oil colours set the palette of mossy greens and browns and it is perfectly positioned low enough to feel connected to the tabletop.
Abundantly clear: Why use one large mirror if you can have two? The generous length of the table is complemented by a range of decorative elements, both on the surface and underneath the table. A basket of extra cushions and throws is a hospitable touch, especially in cooler months.
Watch your tone: We love this image, shot by Sharyn Cairns and styled by Charlotte Bell for Country Style magazine, of a Tasmanian home. It's all about a very controlled colour palette and a variety of natural textures, from timber and glass to rusty iron and pewter.
