We've seen vintage shoe lasts converted into lamps and coat hooks (hey, anything's possible on Pinterest!), but we love this shot of two in their natural state, with their rich colour, texture, and organic shape contrasting beautifully with the dark wall behind.

Small vintage bottles make great receptacles for flowers. Try a single bloom, either on its own or with larger vessels or vases, or group a few together to get the effect of a larger arrangement. The milk crate keeps it all contained and stable.

Assuming you don't need a vintage apple crate for, umm, apples, we've seen a lot of storage solutions created using crates. Try fixing them to the wall, using them as drawers, creating a shelving unit, or painting and personalising them. This rustic entryway idea is easy to achieve.
