Russellina Puruntatameri is a proud Tiwi woman from the Tiwi Islands, situated 80 kilometers north of Darwin. Russellina developed her artistic skills with her family back home, growing up at Pirlangimpi Garden Point at the Munupi Arts Centre. She learned by watching & listening to their stories. Her paintings emphasize the significance of preserving Tiwi culture for the younger generation. She believes it's crucial for little children to learn the culture, stories, dances, language, & art as they grow up.
