Definitely not as white as the online images suggest, however it is a very lovely rug and is nice and soft. When first receiving it has a factory-like vinegar-ish smell, let it hang outside on a sunny fresh day to remove the odour. You'll definitely need a rug mat if you have hardwood/vinyl floors - otherwise it'll be a slip & slide!
