This is a solid piece of furniture. I wasn't sure what to expect when it said weathered. I was surprised at how raw the wood was on arrival. We gave it a good coating of wood oil which gave it a nice sheen and smoother feel which suited our decor better. With all its lovely detail you could also paint and highlight detail with contrasting colors or just leave raw for that rustic look.
