It doesn't function as a clock. The display switches itself off and stays off, so it's just a block of wood and not a clock. The instructions say it has a noise-activated function, but even when this is switched off the display doesn't work. It's completely useless.

The time keeps going on and off - I presume to save batteries. You must pick up the clock and place it back on your desk for the time to show. It will not show continuously. Even tapping it won't work to activate it.
