Printed on 1 side only. I would not have bought it had I known. The plain, striped, pattern has a sweet, 20th-century, feel. I bought the mint color. Which is ghastly. People who like bright green fabrics would disagree. I use it as a bath towel, but actually because of the color it stays in the closet. If you choose your color carefully (unlike me) and don't mind one-sided fabrics, then it'll do OK.
