Strong symbolism in this artwork is ‘family’. A vital part of Aboriginal culture is storytelling, family sitting around campfires out bush telling stories, the passing of knowledge to the next generations. Creation stories provide important information about culture, values, people, animals & the environment, & are passed down from generation to generation through storytelling. The tradition of passing information through art is universal. Symbols are used in art to preserve culture & tradition.
