This light is surprisingly bright. It was initially glaring but after a couple of days, you acclimatise to it. The light can be rotated in a small range to cast light towards or away from the wall. The only thing I'd change is that the chromed body is very polished and thus adds to the glare because it reflects a lot of light - so if this is an issue for you, it would be better to choose the black version.
