Wardrobes

Wardrobes vary significantly in form and function, ranging from portable clothing racks to expansive built-in units. Timber remains the dominant material across our 120+ styles. Before focusing on aesthetic details, determine whether you need enclosed storage to hide clutter or an open rail for quick access.

Wardrobes in our range

Our range spans open clothing racks and rotating rack systems, to enclosed built-in wardrobes with mirrored doors at the top. A clothing rack suits a rental or a room without existing built-in storage, as it needs no installation and can move with you. Enclosed wardrobes with two or three doors and internal drawers suit a main bedroom doing the bulk of a household's clothing storage. Deciding between open and enclosed storage upfront narrows our range more than any other filter.

For enclosed drawer storage without the hanging space, see our chest of drawers range.

Wardrobe height options

Freestanding wardrobe heights run from 113cm up to 160cm, well short of ceiling aheight, which means most wardrobes in this range are freestanding rather than fitted floor-to-ceiling units. Width scales with door count, from around 50.5cm for a single-door unit up to 118cm for a three-door wardrobe, so measure both height and width against the wall before settling on a door count; even a 160cm wardrobe still leaves a meaningful ceiling gap in most rooms.

Add a full-length mirror option from our dressing tables range instead if space is tight.

Mirrored door wardrobes

Several designs feature mirror-fronted doors, from a single full-length mirror panel on a built-in unit to mirrored fronts across multiple doors, adding function without encroaching on floor space. A mirrored wardrobe door works well as the only full-length mirror in a smaller bedroom that has no space for a separate freestanding one.

White reflects light and brightens smaller bedrooms better than dark wood tones, making it our most popular finish. Light wood and white-and-black combinations follow, with earthy tones like green and beige featured on softer, accent-style pieces. Match the wardrobe's colour to the room's existing woodwork rather than to other furniture, as it's usually the largest piece in the space apart from the bed.
