Emu is a sacred animal for Aboriginal people. Emus were creator spirits that used to look over the land. Emus feature prominently in Aboriginal stories & culture. They’re the inspiration behind dances, the subject of astrological mythology & other creation stories. During emu hunting, everything from the fat to the feathers is used. As well as being an important food source, the fat of Emus is used for oil, their bones for knives, tendons for string, & feathers for ceremonial adornments.
