Table is exactly as depicted and not too difficult to put together. The only thing that could be improved is there area where the additional panel is kept is open on either side and therefore you can see into it. Otherwise extremely happy with this purchase!

This table was tricky to assemble. It also has a sharp table edge, because of the laminate on ply, which is hard on wrists and not very user friendly :( However, for the price, size, versatility, and overall look (once assembled) it is good value in comparison to other alternatives in the market place right now. You can store placemats, when it is extended, in the cavity that houses the extension piece. I've put a runner over the very obvious extension section to hide it, when it's extended. Not sure how long it will remain in good condition, given the usual wear and tear that occurs particularly to table edges and surfaces. There are just two of us using it day-to-day, and then 6-8 for 'all-in' family dinners so hopefully it won't wear too quickly. Otherwise it works in our space, from a decor and usage point-of-view so despite not being ecstatic with it, I don't hate it. If you're needing something that can seat 8 and is affordable this would work.
