About the Manufacturer
Umbra is a collection of consumer products developed with intelligent design as the focus. Objects are innovative and functional to keep pace with changing lifestyles. There would be no Umbra without design. Toronto-based homeware design company Umbra - Latin for "shade" - was born over 30 years ago when graphic designer, Paul Rowan, couldn’t find a nice window shade to hang in his apartment. He took it upon himself to make one and when he realised people liked it he teamed up with childhood friend, Les Mandelbaum, and Umbra was born. The modus operandi? To re-imagine everyday items into modern wares. Today, Umbra is recognised all over the world for bringing intelligent design to essential items thanks to their in-house team of international designers who create original designs that speak universally and personally to a broad customer base. Lovely piece for the hallway. Holds all the brollies and canes we use and still enough space for guests to put theirs. Heavy enough not to topple with the weight of what it's holding but light enough to lift up and move around. Highly recommend this stand 😊 |
