- Care Instructions: In all circumstances, before exposing the timber to the elements, you need to treat it with suitable wood/teak oil; if you are going to leave your furniture exposed outdoors, it is recommended you take extra care of it; Outdoor Furniture Oil Application - before use, wipe down all timbers with a damp rag to remove any dust etc.; once the timber is dry apply a suitable wood/teak oil (with UV resistance) to all the timber, once dry, apply a second coat; regular applications of oil, at least twice a year will be required, depending on your climatic conditions, you may need more; It is recommended to use Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil - Hardwood, with UV resistance & follow their directions for use; Outdoor Furniture Cover - for maximum protection, especially in extreme weather conditions, cover your outdoor furniture or store away when not in use for long periods; Important Note- if you leave the timber fully exposed to bake in the sun, the moisture content in the timber will be completely drawn out of the timber & will result in movement, surface cracks, splitting & warping; this is a normal reaction of the timber under the circumstances; small cracks & fissures may develop with changes in humidity & temperature; this is a natural, uncontrollable characteristic of solid wood furniture & is completely normal

Solid chair, the exact size we were after and looks great on our front porch. There were some minor imperfections in the timber (a few cracks that don’t appear to be structural) so that’s why it missed 5 stars but overall happy with the purchase. |

Easy to assemble with the provided instructions. The only issue encountered being that the supplied allen key required filing in order to be able to insert into the bolts (burr on the end of the key). Timber provided is a hardwood that has been given a coat of stain. As our chair will be in full exposure to the elements we will do another coat of oil on it. Seems strong and no defects are apparent. |

My original preference was for Teak timber but the Shorea was a very close match to the other teak pieces I was using. The assembly was simple and the quality, sturdiness and finish of the product was excellent. I had been concerned because of the low price that the piece would be flimsy and poorly finished but I was so pleasantly surprised by it's quality. |
