Hi Joanna, Its unfortunate to hear that the quilt hasnt lived up to expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be, especially when you were counting on it being an all-season option. Sometimes new quilts can carry a factory scent that usually airs out after a few days. Wed suggest giving it a good airing in a well-ventilated area, if you havent already. As for the warmth, every sleeper has different comfort levels, and a lightweight cover or layering may help if its running too hot. That said, we absolutely want to help you feel supported. This product smells like wet fish. I have washed, soaked and everything to try and rid the smell but am unable to. After research, it is common in cheaper duvets as they don’t treat the feathers to cut cost which results in a smelly duvet
