The bed assembly is not a lock and pop situation, this took two able-bodied humans with all the tools three hours to assemble. There are LOTS of screws, so you need a drill for sure. If using just a screwdriver, this would have taken us longer. Now, let’s skip to the good part. This bed is STURDY, and very well made. The timber (particle board mainly) is thick and heavy. All the drawers are fully reinforced with nails and struts and roll in and out on castors. Consider this when placing a mat underneath your bed. The fabric is lux so make sure where you’re assembling it is clean and dirt free. When we put the drawers together we followed the instructions correctly, however there was still a top gap when we pushed the side drawers in (see pic) it’s not a biggie as our bed base faces the door and the bottom drawer was fine, and the dooner hang will hide this anyway, but if you’re a bit of an ocd type, this might be annoying. The mattress when fully expanded is firm to medium We put a thick mattress topper on it as well, so it’s super comfy. It is very important to allow the mattress to fully expand (48hrs) before sleeping on it. Overall we like the bed and know it will be sturdy and comfortable for our guests.

I was pleasantly surprised how great the bed and mattress are. The mattress is great to sleep on and love the storage compartments at the end and side of bed. I am not always great at assembling any flat pack items but thank god for daughter (yep you heard right daughter). I would highly recommend the purchase of this ensemble it is affordable and well priced.
