Ariana Birds on Branch Garden Ornament

I love this birds on a log ornament. However I did have a situation when unpacking it. I would suggest unpacking outside or placing some newspaper underneath it. The log is hollow. The ornament is packed inside a plastic bag the open part of which had been tucked way inside the hollow log. When I pulled the plastic ends out of the log quite a sizeable amount of debris which was inside the log came out (grit etc) and spread rather widely over my bench resulting in a mess to clean up. So keep this in mind. The ornament was also coated in a rust powdery substance which came off on my fingers. Putting that bad start aside we soon became friends and it now lovingly sits on my outdoor table. Also I'll mention that one end of the log was shorter than the other so I had to be careful where I placed it to allow for this. I think the ornament is cute but overpriced.
