I purchased this to store my plates in, rather than as a dish rack, as I recently moved to a property that didn't have enough storage. I find the product to be sturdy and solid (unlike a previous review I have read). It looks good and suits my needs. My only criticism is that with normal plates (not larger formal dinner plates) it obstructs the opening of the front door, and door doesn't close flush. It also holds 11 plates, where most sets are even numbers. 1 extra plate would be good.
