Originating in the Qin dynasty in China, the ginger jar was used to transport spices. When they were exported to Europe in the 19th century, they began to have a more decorative function. This lamp's base is evocative of ceramic jars of old, with a classic blue and white pattern. The tapered white shade completes the look.

Gorgeous and complements a costal/hamptons/provincial styling well. I thought the blue colour might have been too contrasting but it suits perfectly. We have medium grey walls and white hamptons bedsides and these make the room pop for sure! |

This is the most beautiful lamp I was lucky enough to be able to buy. I love the beautiful blue and white pattern because I love the Hampton style and I was surprised at how big it is, and it looks lovely on my bedside table. temple and webster has such lovely, good quality things of all kinds, and I wish I the money to buy everything, but pension money only goes so far, so I have to save up for what I want. also it was packaged really well and arrived safely, so thank you. |
